NDSTC Camporee/Cub’s Pool Day

Date:  July 19-21, 2019

Location: Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center, NSA Panama City

What to Expect:

  • Merit Badges (Swimming, First Aid and Life Saving)
  • Team Building
  • Demonstration by Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal
  • Saturday Cookout
  • Tour of Facilities
  • NDSTC Camp T-shirts
  • Pool and Water Safety for Cub Scouts on Saturday morning (all aforementioned activities, including overnight camping, are for Boy Scouts only)

Cost:

  • $25 per Scout/Adult Leader for Camporee
  • $15 per Cub Scout/Adult Leader for Cub’s Pool Day only

Additional Information:

  • All Scouts and Adults must register by July 6th at 5pm
  • Any adult attendee 18 years of age or older must provide full-name and birthday for base access
  • Each attendee younger than 18 must register with name, age, troop number and shirt size for camp T-shirt (if additional T-shirts are desired, please annotate how many on registration and include $15 for each additional T-shirt)
  • NDSTC waivers must be filled out and included with registration.  http://www.gulfcoastcouncil.org/document/liability-waiver/192513
  • All Scouts and Adult leaders must be escorted at all times while on base
  • Check-in and camp setup will begin at 5pm on Friday, July 19th. Check-out will be at 2pm on July 21st
  • The event is capped at 45 Scouts for the Camporee and 15 Cub Scouts for the Cub’s Pool Day
  • Scouts are expected to bring their own food for all meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch except for Saturday lunch (a cookout will be provided by the staff for Saturday lunch)
  • Scouts must bring ample water for drinking and cooking. Facilities will be available throughout the day to refill water containers however there will be limited potable water at the camp site
  • Scouts must bring camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, cooking stoves/utensils, etc.) as if they were camping in the woods. If Scouts do not have access to said gear, some gear may be available through MWR on base. Please coordinate with Ensign Brian McConnell
  • Scouts must bring a swimsuit and towel (bring goggles if desired)
  • No weapons are allowed on base. Also, please refrain from brining large knives, axes, saws, hatchets, fire building materials, etc.
