"GET IN THE GAME"

Welcome to Geocaching

Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment. Our Gulf Coast Council Official Site is reserved for scouts, adult scouters and scout families to "get in the game".

Create you own geocache (one per unit, please) by August 14, 2009. On August 29, 2009, start finding as many active geocaches on this site as you can. The top three persons who find the most active websites by March 28, 2010, will win a prize which will be presented at the Gulf Coast Council encampment on April 9, 2010.

Get a log on for your unit then log on to do the following...
  • Post your own geocaching site on this website to get "in the game".
  • Locate an active geocaching site on this website so you're "playing the game".
  • Report the geocaches you found.
  • Add your comments about the game to the blog.
