Let Popcorn Fund Your Scouting Adventures!

Selling popcorn is a win-win situation! For Scouts it teaches them valuable life lessons in goal setting, salesmanship and self confidence. For parents it has the potential to fund an entire year of Scouting adventures! Imagine your Scouts participating in a program packed full of exciting activities and not having the parents pay for any of it.

Everybody loves popcorn!

Popcorn is popular with customers. (3 out 4 people will buy)

Average unit makes $1,500 to $2,000 in profit.

Prizes for the Boys (they love to earn prizes!)

It taste great and it’s very nutritious.

You’ll raise enough funds for a whole year’s program.

Boys build confidence, self-esteem and people skills.

All the profits stay local to support individual units and

council programs.


What is new in 2010

Prizes are better in our Fill It Up Drawings (fill up an order sheet and be entered into a drawing at Fam Camp)

The Scout gets more for Filling Up a Order Sheet.

Along with being in the drawing for the Fill It Up Prizes, they will have earned their way to Sportsman's Day 2010

That's right Fill UP a Order Sheet and come to Sportsman's Day 2010

600 Club for Scouts that sale $600.00 or more you will be entered into the door prize drawing at Sportsman's Day.

For every $600.00 that a scout sales he will get his name put into the Sportsman's Day drawing.

District Popcorn Kick Offs

Lake Sands District Kick Off is August 10, 2010

Choctawhatchee District Kick Off is August 11, 2010

Pensacola Bay District Kick Off is August 12, 2010

Unit Kick Offs will ASAP after district Kick Offs

District Turn in will be November 1st or 2nd.

Council will order popcorn on November 5th

Popcorn will arrive on November 17, 2010

Popcorn Unit Pick Up will be November 18, 2010

Tools and Information for the 2010 Popcorn Sales.

           GOALS

  • Set a Unit Goal (# of Scouts x Full Order Sheet = Goal) (30 scouts x $300.00 = $9,000.00) ($9,000 in sales x 30% = $2,700 to unit)
  • Set Scout Goal (Fill Up at Least One Order Sheet, 30 blanks on the sheet, lowest possible total of sheet would be $300.00
  • Get as many Scouts to qualify for Sportsman's Day (one filled order sheet)
  • Set and shoot for above goals and you will have more sales than 2009.

Awards

Trophies will be given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place BB gun, rifle and shotgun shooters, archery and fishermen (Boy Scout and Cub Scout)

Each activity has judges to keep score.  For fishing, show fishing judges all fish caught. Tell judges of all fish that got away and of all nibbles.

Rules

Have fun.
Boats and canoes may not be used.
Fishing from bank (shore) only.
No fishing in the swimming area.
No fishing from docks.
No fires are permitted.
No Swimming.

What Is Provided

 

Lunch for each Scout and 1 parent
All shooting equipment
All shooting safety equipment
Door prizes – given out during lunch
Fishing license is not required

What NOT to Bring

Guns & Ammunition
Bows and Arrows
Alcohol
Knives with fixed open blades
Camping Equipment

What to Bring

 

Each Scout may bring one parent.
Fishing tackle – Rods & reels, fishing lures,
artificial bait, live bait (worms, crickets),
sinkers, bobbers, etc.
Folding chair for fishing or relaxing.
Sunscreen, hat, other sun protection.
Dress in layers, day may be cold in morning.
